Please follow these guidelines:
Write up a brief summary of the military accomplishment (such
as a service member graduating from basic training, getting promoted
to a new rank, being commissioned for duty in Iraq…)
Be sure to include the service member’s full name, military branch,
military title, where he or she completed training, where he or she is
based, name of high school he or she graduated from, year of graduation,
town where high school is located, and name and hometown of service member’s
parents. Also include a phone number (not for publication) where we
can contact you in case we have any questions.

SAMPLE OF FORMAT TO FOLLOW WHEN
SUBMITTING MILITARY NEWS:
Air Force Reserve Airman Joseph A. Smith recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, Smith studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Smith, a 2003 graduate of Morris Knolls High School, is presently stationed in Pensacola, Fla., for technical training in aviation. He is the son of John and Lisa Smith of Denville
